~How Great Thou Art~

~How Great Thou Art~

At the church I attend, the pastor has gathered together young men from the flourishing youth group and put them to work. He bought a run down home and is teaching them skills they may never have learned. How to rebuild this home. They are not only learning to swing a hammer, but also learning to work, and see something come to fruition from their labors. All the while working with Godly men who can also instruct them in their faith and handling situations that arise in a manner worthy to our God who has ordained it.

It has been a great success thus far.

In our small area, drugs have become more than a little problem. We are inundated with stories about young people overdosing, and also a new wave of brazen burglaries from drug addicts that are desperate for their next high. We just had an article in our local newspaper about 44 break ins.

A few short weeks ago, the church restoration project suffered a devastating blow. The house was broken into, and all the 4,000 dollars worth of tools were stolen.

No doubt the tools were quickly sold for drug money. The very young men that are escaping lives of hurt, pain, abuse, drug use, by the grace of God were now being victimized again by the same demon, just in a different matter.

Yet, Pastor brought them together, the boys and men involved in the project. Instead of condemning the acts, they prayed for the perpetrators, and asked God to restore what they had lost. And here is how God answers his servants.

God holds the final draft to this story.

Here is a copy of Pastor Paul’s post to our church page and Facebook page.

~ I posted last night I shared a part of an amazing story of God’s goodness and the generosity of some wonderful people! Most of you know that our church, Restoration Ministries Church, has been working on a run down house and bringing it back to life. A few weeks ago some thieves broke in and stole most all of our tools. Since the robbery a few weeks some incredible things have happened but what happened in the last few days has been nothing short of Miraculous! David, of the Bible learned that God was a God who recovers all! Everything was stolen from David and his mighty men. Everything including their wives and children! But David prayed and God recovered all! I have learned through this theft that God is truly a God of restoration! All of the tools that were stolen from our project house… Have been replaced with brand new tools…as a matter of fact we received above and beyond what was stolen….That’s just like God! But it goes beyond tools! Gene & Denise Welsh bought us a brand new trailer to secure our tools at job sites…we never had a trailer before but God thought we could use one! So he used Gene and Denise to buy one for us… It gets better it really does!!! Coal Township put me in touch with a wonderful woman from Staten Island who has a house in Coal Township. I shared with her our vision and she decided she wants to give us her house! Seriously, isn’t GOD amazing! That house will be our next project house. Yesterday as we were eating lunch in State College we were amazed at what had just happened at the Home Depot. As a man who wants to remain anonymous told us to grab carts and get whatever we wanted!!!! It was like a dream and we were overwhelmed by this man’s generosity! We had a compressor stolen so I put one on the cart he said, ” no, no get two!” The he bought another bigger one! That’s just one example of how it went at Home Depot. I should mention that this generous man and his family spoke to Home Depot about our story and what he wanted to do for us. Home Depot discounted every item! So as we were eating lunch feeling over whelmed by the experience my Sister Fran texted me. She told me a woman in our congregation handed her a set of keys and the title to one of those big step vans like UPS uses. She said it was for, “our guys working on the houses!” As I read the text to those with me we just looked at each other in amazement! WOW what an amazing experience this has been and I’m not sure it’s even over yet! Through all this you should know I’ve never asked anyone for anything… All we did was asked God to restore all that was stolen and He went way beyond what we could have ever imagined and let me tell you I think big because I serve Big God but this just overwhelmed me! If you ask yourself, “why did people we know and people we never met respond with such generosity?” I will tell you it’s the Favor of God! He called our church to do something unusual, and He is going to bring it to pass! He is the God of Restoration, he is the God who promises in His Word to restore all that the enemy stole! We thank all the wonderful people who blessed us and we give God all the Glory!~

God restores-

When we walk in the footsteps HE has ordained for our lives, we are showered with God’s favor. That is not to say we won’t walk through the storms, because we will. But, God is by our side. If HE is for us who can be against us!

Acts 3:19-21 ESV

Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus, whom heaven must receive until the time for restoring all the things about which God spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets long ago.

Isaiah 61:7 ESV

Instead of your shame there shall be a double portion; instead of dishonor they shall rejoice in their lot; therefore in their land they shall possess a double portion; they shall have everlasting joy.

Job 42:10 ESV

And the Lord restored the fortunes of Job, when he had prayed for his friends. And the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before

God’s Favor-

Psalm 5:12 ESV

For you bless the righteous, O Lord; you cover him with favor as with a shield

Psalm 90:17 ESV

Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, establish the work of our hands!
