Live life in such a way,
that when you enter into death,
everyone celebrates instead of mourns.
You may be thinking, how can I celebrate when some one dies?
When you are following Christ, loving Him, and living for Him everyday, there are certain things that are central to you. “HOPE” and your “FAITH”.
Let me express some of those things.
When Jesus Christ came to earth and became man for our sake and died, HE accepted death in place of you and I.
But we see him who for a little while was made lower than the angels, namely Jesus, crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.
When God created us, death was not part of the equation. Only Life. When sin came into existence we were sentenced to death.
When Jesus rose on the third day, and walked out of the tomb, death lost it’s sting, for anyone who would accept that sacrifice as atonement for their sin and make Jesus Lord of their lives.
When as Christians we live and show others how thankful we are, how hopeful we are, and how unafraid we are of death, it speaks volumes to all those paying attention.
Daniel 12:3 ( Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who
lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever. … )
Why are we wise? Because we know where we are going, and lead others to that same Hope and knowledge.
As, I pondered writing this blog this morning, I went to the Lord in prayer, and asked Him, why do you want me to write this? He pointed me in the direction through the prompting of the Holy Spirit to 1 Peter.
In First Peter 3 it was reiterated through the scripture, the same thing that God was speaking to my heart:
Praise to God for a Living Hope
3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, 5 who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. 6 In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. 7 These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. 8 Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, 9 for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
As I read this passage, I was filled with overflowing happiness, of a reiteration of hope and excitement.
Give a gift to the ones you love, live in such a way, that when you die to this world, they will rejoice with you, and not mourn for you. Rejoice with you, as you are entering the blessed rest to spend eternity with the Savior of the world.
Eternity is only a heartbeat away….
