This word can have different connotations.

Let’s start with fixing things. As we continue to descend into this late hour in the church age, we see everything that Jesus talked about to the apostles on the Mount of Olives; Let’s take a look-

3As He was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”

4And Jesus answered and said to them, “See to it that no one misleads you. 5“For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many. 6“You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end. 7“For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes. 8“But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs.
Matthew 24: 3-8

Yes, we can plainly see this taking place, and no it didn’t just start. it has been raging for quiet some time know. As Jesus talked to the apostles He likened all these things as the beginning of “birth pangs”. Taking that into consideration, “fix” your eyes on the world as a woman in labor. All these things we have seen are the beginning of birth pangs, we are still in the beginning of full on labor.

As we watch the news, we can see that Iraq is falling apart at the seams, Ukraine is falling apart. The United States the greatest super power is on the brink of economic collapse due to bad economic choices for decades and with the Bailouts and Quantitative easing ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantitative_easing ) We are on the verge of hyper inflation and one disaster away from complete economic collapse, the likes that America has never seen.

As we see all this happening and to the people that are paying attention, we cannot help but feel helpless, worried, just wanting to “Fix” these problems. But, as you can see just by the small paragraph above and the scenario depicted, there is NO quick “fix”, if any “fix’.

I also can see a parallel in my own life, with my family and friends. Health issues are running rampant, job losses, families breaking down under the pressures and stresses of the reality of it all.

We want a fix. With that said, all we can do is “Fix” our eyes on Jesus. as the labor pains continue to get stronger and closer together, we have to depend on HIM!

Tunnel vision- to the Christ- Our peace in this chaotic, dyeing world.

Hebrews 12:2 (Message) Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed – that exhilarating finish in and with God – he could put up with anything along the way: cross, shame, whatever. And now he’s there, in the place of honor, right alongside God

  1. I like the image. God does wonders, but the only things we can fix are our eyes – on Jesus. That’s the kind of fix-it person I would like to be.
