I wanted to write about doorways that allow the evil one unknowingly get into our lives. It’s important to me because I have recently seen good Christian people being sucked into the devil’s scheme, where his sole purpose it to steal, kill and destroy. (John 10:10)
So how can we have our guard up at all times? How can we protect ourselves, when he uses things that are near and dear to us. Families, jobs, friends. We are so emotionally invested in these things that create the world around us. Do we close ourselves off to the world?
I don’t think that’s the answer. What I do believe is that what we must realize and put in the forefront of our minds is that we are living in the last of the last days. The thief is on high alert. He is specifically looking for your weaknesses and or “doorways” to take you down.
Should we be scared? No, God does not give us a spirit of fear. (2 Timothy1-7) He gives us a spirit of Power and Love. He also gives us a spirit of discernment. If you are lacking that, pray fervently for God to give that to you.
What is discernment?
1.The act or process of exhibiting keen insight and good judgment.
2.Keenness of insight and judgment
In the days we are living in, we not only need to pray for this gift of the spirit, but also teach our children. Teaching our children, is easiest when we are demonstrating it ourselves. Let your children see you make good godly decisions and also sharing with them your thought process, so they may understand from start to finish.
Let’s focus on our weaknesses and try to shut those doors that are attempting to be used.
Most importantly we need to be IN the word of God, which will lead us into righteousness.
