Heaven a healthy obsession?

I have to admit I have a slight obsession with all things Heaven. I want to know it all which I know is an impossibility. Until we get there of course.

What does it look like? Who is there? I have said in previous blogs and I think it’s worth repeating lol, I have read so many books and watched so many videos on near death experiences, and read the scriptures about what people in the Bible were able to witness but not always able to articulate in a way that we could completely picture it. I surmise that there are things there that we have never seen, things that we can’t understand. But, also things we can understand, like our family, our babies, our pets and of course our God. The Bible says that there is perpetual light; and the only source is from God. So bright that you cannot look directly at him.

Revelation 22:1-5 Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb through the middle of the street of the city; also, on either side of the river, the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will worship him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever.

Some people may find it strange, that believers are so interested in what the after life will be like. I have heard a lot of things from people like “You seem excited to die”. “It freaks me out when you say you can’t wait for Christ to return”. “I’m afraid to die, that’s the last thing I want to think about”.

But, you see this is not our home. This world and our life will pass away, and in the span of eternity all of the things that we are concerned with are merely the blink of an eye. It’s hard to fathom that our life is so significant yet insignificant. The Lord loves each and every one of us as we are the only child he has. Our lives here are a thin piece of yarn in a large tapestry and the most significant thing is how we affect the other strands that the Lord has destined us to cross paths with, and how the other strands affect us.

I heard this saying and it was right on target ” I am homesick for a place I have never been”
So does that make me obsessed? I would answer yes. Is that a bad thing? I say No, I am having a wonderful life which I was entrusted to train up 2
daughters. Also, I am living to give a glittery handshake to each and everyone I meet. In hopes that I will be able to give them a glimpse of the living God working in me. Do I fall EVERYDAY? Yup, and that’s where I learn, and how other people influence me, which is thier purpose. We are connected by love and someday when we have moved on to our new bodies and new home, Love will permeate every facet of our being, we will not be sad, angry, frustrated, or scared. We will be with our friends and family who we knew and loved in a former place, we will develop relationships with spirits we only got to breathe in for an instant, and we will live in bliss for all of eternity.

A Healthy Obsession? Best one you can have.

2 Corinthians 5:8 Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.

Philippians 3:20-21 But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.

1 Corinthians 7:31 1 Corinthians 7:31 those who use the things of the world, as if not engrossed in them. For this world in its present form is passing away.

  1. You said it all, You are here to help people like me to see the real reason we are here, and someday we will all be rewarded from our God, in his glorious Mansion. Amen.
