WWJD?

What would He do? How can we know? Unless we KNOW HIM.

That makes it easier to sort out. If we are not familiar with who He is, how can we do what He would do.

Sure, we know He was kind.We even know He was friends with sinners. We know He was humble.

What does He want from us here? Those professing to be followers of Christ.
Let us see what the word says, what Jesus said to the disciples.
Matthew 5:3~ “God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.

Needy

Matthew 5:4~
God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted

Matthew 5:5~ God blesses those who are humble, for they will inherit the whole earth

Jesus - Washing the feet of his disciples

Matthew 5:6~ Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

Thirst

Matthew 5:7~ God blesses those who are merciful, for they will be shown mercy.

Definition of Mercy: The act of God by which He withholds what we do deserve. We have sinned against God. We have flagrantly violated His laws. We have earned the “wages of sin” which is death (Romans 6:23), and we are condemned already if we have not believed in the name of Jesus Christ as our Savior. We have spurned God’s love and we have rejected His Son, Who died for our sins. God has every right to judge us, find us guilty, sentence us to a lake of fire, and see to it that we suffer torment day and night forever.

Is Mercy a part of who we are? Are we blessing those, who we deem non deserving? Showing Mercy, like HE has shown us?

Matthew 5:8~ Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

PURE

Matthew 5:9~ Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God

We should become more familiar with who Christ was and is. When we do this it will be easier for us to strive to do HIS WILL.

I read something the other day that said when you read about Him, those things become imprinted on your soul. The Holy Spirit then uses those things to remind you, convict you, of who you are called to be. How can we be reminded if we have never sought the truth of the word, and what he expects of us?

Let’s come together, and truly strive to do what is right in the eyes of the Lord. Let’s get to know him through the word, through books about his divine character. Let all these things be imprinted on your soul so he can lead you through this life, with His merciful, loving, grace filled, holy spirit.

When we turn down opportunities to give mercy, grace, love, kindness that God has planned to enhance us. We lose. They Lose. And the plan of satan are furthered. God’s plan put on hold, until some one else steps forward and is obedient.

What would Jesus do?

What will you do?

  1. What a powerfully presented reminder that to know God is to love with mercy and justice. “I’m giving you a new commandment: Love each other in the same way that I have loved you. Everyone will know that you are my disciples because of your love for each other.”
John 13:34-35 (GW). There’s the proof of our heart.
